12 Encouraging Scriptures For Kids
These scripture prayer cards have some encouraging scriptures for kids. We will explore 12 encouraging bible verses below.
1. Encouraging Scriptures -Jeremiah 29:11
Sometimes life can seem uncertain and the path unclear. Knowing that we have a God who has a great plan for our life is a great encouragement for kids. Let us see how the word of God says it in Jeremiah 29:11
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
This means that once we dedicate our lives to God, He has our lives in his hands and He has prepared a great future for us.
2. Encouraging Scriptures-Isaiah 40:29
Ever felt like you had no strength? Kids sometimes feel tired too; like they can’t go forward. Does the word of God have an encouraging word for kids? Oh yes! Let us read it in Isaiah 40:29.
“He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.”
Isn’t it awesome to know that when we feel like we don’t have the strength to do something we can ask God to give us power and strength? Hallelujah!
3.Encouraging Scriptures-Psalm 31:3
“For thou art my rock and my fortress” Great news from psalm 31:3! God is our rock and fortress which means we can run to him for safety and we can lean or rest on Him for support.
Isn’t it great that we have encouraging scriptures such as Psalm 31:3 to remind us we always have someone there for us?
4.Encouraging Scriptures-Psalm 34:7
Ever felt fearful? Felt alone? Encourage yourself from the bible. Psalm 34:7 says
“The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them.”
There are many stories in the bible about how God delivered his people. Remember the story of Daniel in the lions den? How about the three Hebrew boys in the fiery furnace? You may even have a story of your own to share with your kids about how God delivered you from something. Aren’t you thankful we have a God who can deliver?
5.Encouraging Scriptures-1 Timothy 4:12
People may not want to listen to kids because they are young. However encourage your kids to be a good example even though they are young because this is what God wants. Be encouraged. Kids have a purpose and are never too young to show others how God expects us to be.
“Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.”
6.Encouraging Scriptures-Joshua 1:9
This bible verse is a favorite. It encourages us not to fear but instead to move forward knowing that God is always with us. This is a wonderful verse to use to encourage your kids from Gods word.
“Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.”
Praise the Lord, he doesn’t leave us alone. He goes with us wherever we go. What a God, what a mighty, loving God.

7.Encouraging Scriptures-Philippians 4:13
We all feel like we are not capable at times to go through the situations which arise in life but Philippians 4:13 reminds us that no matter what the situation is with God we can go through it. Check out our full post on this I can do all things through Christ bible verse as you encourage your kids with Philippians 4: 13.
“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”
8.Encouraging Scriptures-2 Timothy 1:7
“I’m scared” Have you ever heard that from your kids? Well guess what? The word of God tells us that fear does not come from God, so in the name of Jesus encourage your child from the word found in 2 Timothy 1:7.
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
Let your child learn this verse, hang it on the walls, say it before bed and by God’s grace they will stay encouraged in the word and not be fearful.
9.Encouraging Scriptures-Mark 11:24
The bible teaches that if there is something we desire we should ask for it, in faith and we will receive it. Encourage your child by letting them know that if they ask God; he will give if we ask in faith.
“Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.”
10.Encouraging Scriptures-Psalm 28:7
When you need strength you can turn to God; when you need protection you can turn to God. Parents and kids can be encouraged by Psalm 28:7 and let the Lord be your strength and shield.
“The Lord is my strength and my shield”.
Oh what peace we can experience knowing God is our strength and knowing that God is our shield.
11.Encouraging Scriptures-2 Corinthians 12:9
When we are weak, God can make us strong. The apostle had a problem but God’s grace was sufficient. Be encouraged by Gods’ word found in 2 Corinthians 12:9.
“My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.”
Amen, amen, amen. I don’t know who says it but perfectly imperfect sounds like it. We are imperfect but by God’s grace we are perfect. What an encouragement to us frail, mistake prone humans. Thank you God for your word of encouragement.
12.Encouraging Scriptures-Psalm 46:1
911 or 119 depending on where you live. That is the number to call if there is an emergency. However isn’t it great to know that wherever you are; even if you don’t have a phone, you can reach God-our present help in time of trouble. Let us be encouraged in the word found in Psalm 46:7.
“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”
