What Is A Creation Story?

A creation story tells about the beginning of the world. There are various creation stories but the one most Christians embrace is found in the book of Genesis, the first book in the holy Bible. Here it says that God created the world and everything that is comes from God.

“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.” Genesis 1:1

“All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.” John 1:3

As Christians, we want our kids to know their true origins. We were made in the image of God and our whole world was from his creative design. The biblical creation story for kids is so exciting. This book has great illustrations, easy to follow directions that will engage and keep the kids attention while you tell the creation story for kids. This book is ideally for kids ages 2-4 years.

While Joanne’s book is awesome, the best book to tell the story of creation from is the bible. This story is found in Genesis 1 and 2. You can read the story from a kid friendly bible to your child or you could get an activity bible book such as Zondervan’s The Beginners Bible Wild About Creation Sticker and Activity Book. This book is geared toward kids ages 3 to 7 and has puzzles, bible teachings and stickers related to the wonders and joy of nature.

Another creation book is “God’s very colorful creation” by Tim Thornborough. This book teaches kids ages 2 to 4 about the various colors that were apart of the bible creation story. This is a great way to tell the creation story for kids while teaching colors as well. What’s azure, what’s cobalt those are colors you will find in this book as you read the story of creation.

In the Beginning: A Creation Story Pop-Up Book is illustrated by Agostino Traini for kids 3 to 8 years old. In this book, kids are invited to experience the wonder of the creation story in a whole new way. It is a colorful fourteen page pop-up book which kids in grade 1 or 2 can read while parents can read for younger children.

What are the 7 days of creation? This is a topic you will discuss when teaching the creation story for kids. What is the order of creation is another way kids may ask this question. Answering this question can be exciting and what could be more exciting than using C-R-A-F-T.
